Upon This Day Remembered

for the feast of all souls

Caught up in
the cold cliche
of the difference
made by just one day
Taken by the tender way
the light is soft retreating

Likewise called
and hid from sight
From summer day
to winter night
Embracing darkened
moment’s might
Ambition’s pride deleting

Walk We All
as Love Alone
in our shedding
greatly grown
Every tired tale
and bone
to the earth surrendered

Work for rest
that is the goal
Life dismantles
to make whole
another speck,
a spark; a Soul
upon this day remembered.
