Great Lady of the Dawn Your Mind is full of Sky The Highest Wisdom of the Worlds Twinkles in Your Eye Bright Mother of the Sun Your Heart alight with Fire Imbues each helpless holy one With Divine Desire Dear Ma of Heaven’s Child Your Body is our Earth Each home and hearth, all places wild EnChristed at His Birth Hail May, Full of Grace Your Soul contains the Sea Compassion deep to buoy us Until our souls are free.
Happy New Year! I have always appreciated the Catholic tradition of beginning each year by acknowledging our need for Sacred Maternal nurturance, wisdom, and protection. Certainly we now stand at a moment in time where there is urgent need of Deep Feminine Strength and Sensibility in all areas of life. I imagine this first day of the New Year as the opening of Her Mantle; reassuring us that there is a refuge of grace, peace, wisdom, and rest amidst the storms we inevitably face in the course of any year. With a soft smile and knowing gaze, She invites us to snuggle in whenever we need to; not just individually, but collectively. There is room for Everyone; Every Being who seeks consolation, refreshment, and rest. I read somewhere along the way that the word "solemnity" means serious joy. I think of the natural presence of both tears and laughter during births, weddings, memorials; beginnings and endings and momentous occasions of all sorts. To be open and available to the welling up and expression of our deepest emotions is a worthwhile resolution that could help to expand our capacity for vulnerability and greater humanity. This is my prayer as this year unfolds: that whatever may come, we will encounter beautiful waves of serious joy welling up and washing over us, and that we will share it with others. The willingness to allow it and share it is a courageous act of vulnerability, and a wise wielding of precious truth that can set us all free. I think the world needs a washing of serious joy. You know that Ma is always happy to help us wash up! Serious Joy and All Blessings, ~ Cheryl Anne
