simply always so

seeing through the dark

I am not fooled
By this clever cold
Nor by disguise of
Thick cloud-shrouded skies
I know the part
They have to play
Before giving way
To spring’s certain surprise
Of light and color’s fair display
So in this day’s lame feigned gloom
I warm myself by Nature’s Inner Glow
And await the birth and bloom
Which as the dawn is simply always so.
