Not The Sky
a tiny song for assumptiontide
Do not grieve She is not leaving Do not cry 'Tis not goodbye There is no going But Presence growing In the heart Not the sky.
There is a line of a prayer in the beautiful book, Hebridean Altars, by Alistair Maclean, which reads, "My heart and heaven are one." On this Feast of the Assumption, I feel that to be especially true. This day is a potent reminder that the directionality and destination of Spirit does not necessarily correspond with our maps; regardless of what art and metaphor might portray. May our Beloved Ones, both personal and omniversal, who have gone to heaven, be found easily and ever-present, arisen in our hearts. With Comfort, Healing, and Peace for All. ~Cheryl Anne
