Beeline

heartwalking

heart as compass 
I set out
feet followed 
independent of mind
made a beeline 
to Your House

I can be surprised
how again and again
through the din
of twisted narratives
without and within
still You woo me

quietly, sweetly
call me magnetically
love me completely
I knock 
and You open The Door 
to greet me.

My first walk in my new neighborhood led me to this lovely church and the warm, impromptu hospitality of both the church administrator and the pastor. It was like talking with old friends in a familiar, beloved place. (The pastor has even been to Iona!)
Unplanned and unexpected, the visit grounded me a bit in the midst of all sorts of uncertainties and unknowns. 
I feel deeply encouraged, and thankful that my heart decided to take me for a walk!
