I am excited to share today's Oak Abbey post with you! I have found the Hebridean Altars prayers to be some of the most beautiful, potent prayers I have ever prayed. It makes me deeply happy to share a few of them with you; presented in a way that can easily become a comforting, healing, transformative practice. The book itself is a treasure! I highly recommend! Over the last few years, since I first arranged these prayers for use with Anglican prayer beads, its recitation has been my midday prayer practice. Totally doable on my lunch hour at work, this chaplet is like a daily Divine Embrace and gentle reset for my soul. The prayers have a wonderful cadence about them which lends to easy memorization. I have set each little prayer as a simple melodic chant. When I learn how to add audio posts here, which I think is possible, I will share those melodies. In the meantime, you can certainly make up your own! If you do decide to get acquainted with and pray this chaplet, please share something of your experience. I would love to know if/how these beautiful prayers might work in your heart and life. Deep Peace, Love, and Gentlest Blessings, Cheryl Anne P.S. Not all Anglican prayer beads include a Resurrection bead, so it helps to use the term, "Anglican Rosary with Resurrection bead" in your search if you're interested in purchasing prayer beads for this particular practice. It's also fine to simply use the prayers without beads, though inviting our bodies to the prayer party by means of tactile involvement can deepen the experience of connection and wholeness.
I am going to have to revisit this book… I bought it years ago. David Adams first came into my life during my first tour in England. The same time that I discovered The Northumbria Community and Celtic Daily Prayer 💖🙏🌹✨
